Las Vegas: Day 1
So, day one was supposed to be more like day two, but we ended up getting in almost 10hrs later than we were supposed to. Which is always fun when traveling with small children. If you follow me on Instagram (and if you don’t, you should – here you go) you may have watched the fiasco unfold in my stories. Short-ish version – it snowed in Seattle and all of the people and businesses forgot how to operate. So it took us 2hrs to get to the airport (it usually takes 30min), then our flight was delayed for 2hrs before they cancelled it entirely, then we had to wait in…

Clearwater Marine Aquarium and Winter the Dolphin
Dolphins have been my favorite animals since I was at least like, 10. I remember my parents let me redo my bedroom, and it was dolphin EVERYTHING! Light blue walls, with a dolphin border, bedsheets that looked like water and a comforter and pillowcases with giant pictures of dolphins on them, stuffed animals, figurines, you name it. You’d think after that I may have gotten over my obsession, but obviously not because they are still my favorite animal. And I still can’t bring myself to get rid of some of those dolphin figurines. (Lol) We went to Florida for a short trip a few weeks ago, and of course we…

Hike to Coal Creek Falls
I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of the scenery up here in the Pacific Northwest. The evergreen trees (they’re green all year, duh) are cool, but even all the dead trees are beautiful because a lot of them are covered in bright green moss. I remember thinking how beautiful the green moss was when we visited the Hoh Rainforest in 2012, and how different is was from the Spanish Moss we have in Florida. There’s a lot of different waterfalls and hikes up here near Seattle, too. The other day, I noticed the weather forecast showed no rain for a few days, so I knew I wanted to get…

Family Christmas Photos in the Snow
I read that it doesn’t snow often in Seattle, but once I realized we were a short drive from the snow, I knew that I wanted to get our first Christmas pictures as a family of four done with a snowy background. We’ve always had pictures taken on the beach or in some kind of sunny setting. So, I posted on a local mom group asking for photographer recommendations and Jacelyne from Wild Aperture Arts responded with her photography and videography company. After messaging back and forth, she told me that they had recently moved up here from Florida just a few months ago. It was a little tricky getting…

Visiting Snoqualmie Falls
Our first official weekend in Seattle was filled with exploring. The weather has been beautiful, which apparently isn’t the norm this time of year, but I’ll take it while I can. So we drove about 30 minutes outside the city to the tiny town of Snoqualmie, which was decorated for Christmas and looked like it was taken straight out of a Hallmark movie. It’s so cool that we are living in a big city but we’re still just a short drive away from a small town that’s Main Street is less than a mile long. First we hiked down to Snoqualmie Falls, and it was a pretty easy hike; definitely…

Life Update: We’re Moving Again!
October and November have been full of changes the past several years – in 2016 I had a baby, 2017 I found out that I was pregnant again AND we moved across the country, and this year will be another eventful season! Due to an exciting job promotion, we’ll be relocating again, and this time we’re going to the Pacific Northwest! We’ve been in SoCal for just under a year, and it’s been fun exploring, but I’m really looking forward to a change. We went up this week to house hunt, and it was amazing seeing all of the fall colors! I’m so excited to live somewhere that has seasons,…

Fall in San Diego at the Bates Nut Farm Pumpkin Patch
The SoCal summer heat is finally gone and crisp, cool fall air has moved in! I love keeping the windows open all day long, and it helps with the ridiculous San Diego electric bills too (I’m talking to you, SDG&E… who raises electric prices in the summer… when it gets up to 100 degrees some days *major eye roll*). We’ve never been to a real pumpkin patch, and of course that’s on all the fall bucket lists nowadays. So we decided to head up to Bates Nut Farm, in Valley Center. It’s about an hour north of us. After researching different San Diego pumpkin patches, it looked like the best…

Florida to California Family Roadtrip
Just over a week ago, we set off on our cross country adventure from Florida to California with 2 dogs and a 13 month old! It actually went much better than I expected, even though our daughter came down with something the first day of driving and then we got a huge crack in our windshield. Otherwise, it was a super smooth and fun trip! My husband left in the car with the pups on Wednesday and stayed in Hattiesburg, MS for the night. The next day, I flew to Dallas with K, where we met up with them in the afternoon. We had dinner with friends and stayed in…

My Life Lately- Welcome Back
I just realized that my very last post happened to be the same morning I ended up going in for my 38 week appointment, only to be sent to the hospital for a c section. I still can’t believe it was that long ago! Well, a lot has changed since I last posted! I had a baby. I quit my job to spend more time with that baby, and to pursue a passion. I started a business. I found out my first baby is going to be a big sister next year. And I’m about to leave the city I’ve called home for almost 3 decades to move across the…

My Tropical, Aloha-Themed Baby Shower
Aloooooha! [Scroll down to download FREE signage for your own tropical, aloha themed baby shower] I can’t believe this weekend was our baby shower! We had so much fun celebrating with friends and family, who traveled from near and far to shower us with ALLLL the baby stuff for our baby girl! She will be here in a little over a month, and I can’t wait to meet her. Our moms and one of my closest friends put together this Aloha-themed baby shower, with the help of my detailed Pinterest board, of course (because #ilovepartyplanning). The shower was at a local tea room, and it was so fun seeing all…
