• A Sanibel Island Babymoon

When I first got pregnant and started thinking about a babymoon (because, hello, any reason to travel is a great reason) I originally thought Hawaii or Seattle. But the further along I got in the pregnancy, I realized how uncomfortable I would be, physically, flying anywhere that far away. And Hawaii is a longgg way from Florida, and super expensive, but totally worth it when you’re not growing a tiny human in your stomach. So we decided on Sanibel Island, FL! My family used to vacation there during summers and it’s probably my favorite laid back “beach town”. I prefer it over Key West to be honest! There’s no nightlife…

  • DIY Hydrating Pregnancy Belly Butter

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my privacy policy for more info. I truly believe there’s no way to actually prevent stretch marks because they are based on your genetics, however, I do believe you can help lessen the severity if you take care of your skin and stay hydrated! I started getting stretch marks in my first trimester before I even gained any weight! I actually didn’t gain any weight the entire first trimester, so I was shocked when I saw some “stretchies” (thanks for that word, Chrissy Teigen). I guess even though I wasn’t gaining weight, my body was still changing, which was obvious when certain clothes were…

  • My Life Lately: An Overdue Life Update

So, I’ve been MIA pretty much all year! I was debating for a while if I wanted to continue blogging, and then I found out that I was pregnant in February and at that point all I ever wanted to do was sleep, so blogging was put aside. I’ve finally started to feel up to it again, and hopefully I will stick with it this time. Not much has happened this year, especially since finding out that I’m pregnant. I had no idea I was until I went for my annual check up and the doctor called the next day to tell me I needed to come back in for…

    Christmas Cookie Exchange & Brunch

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! Any big plans for tomorrow? We will be hosting Christmas dinner at our house with both of our families like we did last year. I love spending time with friends and family at the holidays, and any excuse to decorate and setup the table is good for me. I recently hosted a cookie exchange and brunch with some of my friends that I grew up with. We had 6 people total and yes, mimosas were involved. I made banana nut french toast in the crockpot and a breakfast pizza; I chose these because they were pretty easy to make and gave me time to get everything…

  • The Best Sugar Cookies

Who DOESN’T love a good sugar cookie? Especially around the holidays when they are shaped like a pumpkin or ghost or Santa or a christmas tree. But to be totally honest, I prefer chocolate to be present in every recipe I  use, but I could seriously eat an entire batch of these cookies sans chocolate! And they’re easy and fun to make too! My favorite part is icing them 🙂 Oh, and an added bonus – you don’t have to chill the cookie dough before rolling and cutting! SCORE! Of course I discovered these recipes through Pinterest! I slightly modified the sugar cookie recipe, and below that is the recipe for…

  • HASK Keratin Smoothing Hair Care Collection

I am always on the lookout for new hair products! My hair is a half-curly, half-wavy frizzy mess…and I live in Florida where humidity is at like, 90+ percent 360 days a year (that is not a real statistic). That really may be one of the only things I dislike about Florida, so I just deal with it. But let me tell you, when I go to California, my hair is pretty much PERFECT the entire time…I totally understand why celebrities live there…I would consider moving there just because the weather is so perfect year-round, but that weather comes with a high price! I’m also always open to trying natural…

  • How To Beat Dry Skin with Derma e

In Florida we don’t have the same kind of fall or winter the rest of the country experiences, which I am quite thankful for, so our skin doesn’t go through the same climate-related problems that you might deal with. However, we still experience changing weather and as many people know, with cold weather comes… dry skin. Yuck. It’s uncomfortable, unattractive, and sometimes itchy. If you remember a few months ago, I had the opportunity to try several skincare products from derma e™ (here) which I have used daily ever since. Well, this month I got to team up with derma e™ again and test their Hydrating Night Crème and once again, I…

  • How To Make Puppy Chow (For Humans!)

Puppy chow. Monkey munch. White trash. Chex with powdered sugar. Most of you have probably had this snack at some point in your life, but it has about 110 different names, so you may or may not know what I’m talking about. Personally, I’ve always called it puppy chow since my neighbor’s mom made it when I was like, ten years old. This snack is pretty easy to make and super delicious! I love that you can make it for any occasion, even holidays! I just add festive M&Ms to the mix and voilà: you have Christmas puppy chow, Halloween or fall puppy chow, Valentine’s Day puppy chow, or any…

  • My Life Lately: A Weekend Full of Fun, Love, and Cleaning

This was our third busy weekend in a row, and our house was definitely feeling it after two weeks of traveling all  over the place; especially since I hate unpacking, so it’s pretty much been a disaster all of October. Saturday morning I took the pups for a stroll, and then I went to a tea party hosted by my friend Jessica for her bridesmaids and we had a great time! She’s getting married this weekend and I’m so super excited for her and for this new adventure she is about to embark on! While I don’t feel like married life is much different than unmarried life (we already lived…

  • Anniversary Trip to St. Croix

This past weekend was our one year wedding anniversary and we celebrated it on the beautiful island of St. Croix! We had an amazing time celebrating our marriage, even though we had a few setbacks (like buying a GoPro specifically for this trip and having it stop working entirely before we even arrived on the island – just my luck… or when JetBlue put us on a broken plane, twice, and then had us sit at the airport for 3 hours while it got “fixed”). St. Croix is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands in the Caribbean, and the island is about 22mi long by 7mi wide. We chose this island…
